Do Minority Men Access Mental Health Treatment?

Researchers from the Royal Holloway University found that African American men are less likely than Caucasian men to seek mental health treatment. Many people typically avoid going to a mental health facility because they fear being stigmatized by a diagnosis of mental illness and cannot afford mental health services. To the surprise of the investigators, the study found that the more educated minority men are, the more likely they are to avoid mental health treatment.
