Iced Tea May Cause Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are a common problem of the urinary tract in the U.S. During the summer season, there is a large increase in the number of patients who develop kidney stones. A study conducted by the Loyla University Medical Center shows that iced tea may be a contributing factor in the formation of kidney stones because iced tea has a high concentration of oxalate, which is one of the chemicals that leads to the formation of kidney stones. The study also found that hot tea also contained oxalate but, more people in the U.S consume iced tea.
