‘No reduction’ in deaths caused by aggressive prostate cancer

A study of over 19,000 men found that metastatic prostate cancer’s death rates have remained constant for the past 25 years. The findings of this study stunned researchers at the Davis Medical Center because they believe the death rate of the advanced form of prostate cancer would decrease because the overall survival rate for individuals of different stages of prostate cancer has increased. The findings of this study play a role in the controversy over PSA testing because PSA testing has helped reduce the number of individuals that have metastatic prostate cancer.
