Simple urine test detects common causes of kidney dysfunction after transplantation

Scientists have developed a urine test that can differentiate the common causes of kidney dysfunction after a kidney transplant. Traditionally, physicians order a biopsy of the kidney to determine the dysfunction of the kidney, but this method is invasive. The urine test allows for scientists to measure the levels of various mRNAs and link them to what condition is causing kidney dysfunction.
