A study performed by the la Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium showed that there are large gaps in health care in La Crosse county, which are creating health care disparities. The study found out that 50% of health outcomes are influenced by social, economic, and environmental factors. The study also found out that race was a major factor in determining health care. The researchers from this study discovered that the health disparities that are present in the county’s health care system could ultimately impact the county’s economy.
