A recent study discovered no link between insomnia and hypertension. Prior to the findings of this study, doctors had trouble prescribing medication to patients because they feared the heart complications that the medication could possibly cause. As a result of the findings, doctors don’t have to worry about affecting an individual’s blood pressure when dealing with insomnia. This new study is different from other studies that linked hypertension and insomnia because this study had a large sample size(13,000 participants). The results of this study should reassure patients and doctors that there is no link between hypertension and insomnia.
