Vitamin D deficiency may predict aggressive prostate cancer

Low levels of vitamin D have been linked to numerous health problems. Recently a new study has linked vitamin D deficiency with aggressive prostate cancer. The study involved over four hundred men of European-American and African-American nationality. The men were undergoing an initial prostate biopsy after an abnormal PSA test number. Researchers tested for the men’s vitamin D level and concluded that the lower a male’s level of vitamin D, the higher the risk of aggressive prostate cancer.
